Applying for an extension - first year report

If you need to apply for an extension to the deadline for submission of your first year report, please note:

an extension of up to 10 working days will normally be allowed providing you have your supervisor's agreement and your supervisor has confirmed a revised submission date with your Departmental Postgraduate Administrator before the deadline for submitting your report. Your Departmental Postgraduate Administrator should inform the Degree Committee of any short extension granted.

an extension of more than 10 working days will require an application to the Degree Committee using the form below; an extension will be granted only if:

  • your supervisor and department support your case;
  • you have been hindered in some way from completing the report on time; each case will be considered on its own merits;
  • you have submitted this form before the deadline for submitting your report.

Once submitted, the form will arrive at the Degree Committee Office. We will consult your supervisor and department before giving you the decision.

The personal information you provide will be processed in accordance with University policy.
